A traffic stop turned violent when a driver allegedly raised a pistol toward an officer. The incident occurred after the driver refused to identify himself or exit the vehicle. An officer used a Taser, but it was ineffective.

The man then retrieved a pistol from the door panel and aimed it at the officer, prompting two officers to fire their weapons. The suspect was struck multiple times and received life-saving aid from officers until emergency personnel arrived. He was taken to a medical center for treatment.

Further details about the incident are available from the Magnolia Police Department's news release from Chief Kyle Montgomery.
